Hi There from sunny South Africa

Thought you might like pictures of my CB 1000. It is a 94 model which I purchased about a year ago as a secondhand “grey import”. Following a pretty serious accident I felt I needed to “slow down” from sport bikes but was not yet ready to ride cruiser “feet first” style.

Anyway, having started riding in the eighties the paint scheme reminded me of the CB1100R of that era, hence the bronze wheels. I fitted a Blackbird 17” front wheel and plan to do the same at the rear as soon as possible. Although not visible in the picture I had an ally chain guard made up, changed my rear mudguard and polished the ally engine bits and installed small rear indicators. The end cans of the exhaust I had made up. – YES they are LOUD!! The headers are Titanium, I think by Baby Face but this could just have been the old can. Also turfed rear footpegs. (My wife was riding pillion during the crash and now has a few anti-motorcycle feelings) On the performance side I just fitted a Jet Kit & K&N filter but lets face it, a late 600 supersports will blow it away. Oh yes, wired out the speed limiter as well. Slowing down real well don’t you think?

Lots of things I still want to do, eg, fit CBR1000F Hurricane cams and tranny, 17” rear, modify rear seat, maybe fully adjustable shocks front and rear etc (Oh yes, I wanted to slow down)
